Choosing the right school for your child is an important decision, and we know that every family wants somewhere their child will feel happy, safe, supported and inspired to learn.
At the Federation of Barnehurst Schools, we are proud to offer a warm, welcoming and nurturing environment where every child is valued as an individual and encouraged to be the very best they can be.
The Federation is made up of Barnehurst Infant School and Barnehurst Junior School. Although we are two separate schools, we work closely together to provide a shared sense of community and a positive, supportive learning journey from Nursery through to Year 6.
Whether your child is taking their very first steps into school life, getting ready for Reception, moving into Year 3 or joining us partway through their primary education, we understand how important these milestones are. We are here to help make the admissions process as straightforward and welcoming as possible.

Reception Admissions

Starting Reception is an exciting milestone for children and their families. At Barnehurst Infant School, we aim to make those first steps into school life happy, positive and full of wonderful experiences.

Junior School Admissions
The next exciting chapter!
Moving into junior school is an exciting milestone, bringing new opportunities, friendships and experiences. At Barnehurst Junior School, we warmly welcome children continuing their journey from Barnehurst Infant School, as well as those joining us from other schools.
As our Infant and Junior Schools are separate schools, an application is required for a Year 3 place. Our Junior School has its own admissions criteria, which give priority to children attending Barnehurst Infant School, helping to support a smooth transition within our Federation. However, we also warmly encourage applications from families at other schools and would love to welcome new children into our school community!
