What Is an In-Year Admission?
An in-year admission is when a child joins a school outside the usual starting points of Reception or Year 3.
You may wish to apply for an in-year place if:

Your child is currently attending another school and you would like them to join us.

You are looking for a school place outside the normal admissions process.
Whatever your circumstances, we are always happy to welcome enquiries from prospective families.
How to Apply for an In-Year Place
Applications for in-year places at Barnehurst Infant School and Barnehurst Junior School are managed by the London Borough of Bexley.
If you would like your child to join us, you will need to submit an application through Bexley's online admissions portal.
The availability of places will depend on the number of children currently in each year group. While we cannot guarantee that a place will be available, we warmly encourage families who are interested in joining us to apply.

Waiting Lists
We understand that it can be disappointing if a place is not immediately available at your preferred school.
If the year group you are applying for is full, your child will be added to the school's waiting list in accordance with the admissions arrangements.
Our waiting lists are managed by the London Borough of Bexley, and places are allocated according to the relevant school's published admissions criteria.
Waiting lists are not operated on a first-come, first-served basis, and a child's position may change as other applications are received.
