Our aim at Barnehurst is to provide for our children a wide, challenging and engaging range of PE opportunities in and out of school hours, enabling them to lead a healthy lifestyle and have the desire to be the best they can possibly be, setting goals and targets that they strive to achieve.
This will be implemented within a social, moral and reflective culture, through the notions of team work and fair play in competition, and representing the core British Values.
NB* Our Sports Premium funding is budgeted annually to help us achieve these aims.
Since the academic years of 2013/14 and 2014/15 the UK government has been providing additional funding of £150 million per annum to improve the provision of physical education (PE) and sport in primary schools. This funding, provided jointly by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport, will be allocated to primary school head teachers. The money must be used to improve the provision of PE and school sport.
